Oake's credits include work on previous Twin Cities radio formats, Rev105[1] and Zone105.[2][3][4] In 1998, City Pages listed Oake as the "Best FM Radio Personality" for his work on Zone 105.[5]

Oake is a weekly guest each Tuesday on local sports-talk station AM 1130 KFAN to talk about music, as both KTCZ and KFAN are owned by Clear Channel Communications.
